Richmond
Richmond, Kentucky was established in 1798 as the seat of Madison County. Richmond is a very dynamic community with a population of 31,431. During the 1990’s, Richmond was named the fastest growing city in Kentucky due to the rapid growth of the population during this time period.
Richmond is honored to be the home of Eastern Kentucky University with a student enrollment of 13,285. Peoples Bank is proud sponsor of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce and the Patti A Clay Hospital’s annual PACA ball.
A great local attraction to the area is the Lake Reba Recreation Complex. This facility offers fishing, soccer, baseball, softball, walking trails, picnic areas, horseshoes, and much more!
Fort Boonesborough State Park is also a historic, local attraction. The Fort has been reconstructed with cabins, blockhouses and furnishings. The park is open from 9:00AM – 5:00PM every day from April 1 through October 31.
