Tap to Pay is a fast, secure, contactless way to make purchases. Instead of swiping or inserting your card, you simply look for the Tap to Pay symbol Tap to Pay Symbol  on the payment terminal device, tap your contactless debit or credit card—or a compatible phone or smartwatch—on a payment terminal to complete the transaction.

It works using secure, short-range technology that sends a one-time encrypted code for each purchase, helping protect your account information. Your card never leaves your hand.

You’ll see Tap to Pay accepted at many stores, restaurants, and local businesses. Just look for the contactless symbol Tap to Pay Symbol  at checkout, tap your card or device, and you’re done—quick and easy.

Faster Transactions

How to Use Your Contactless Card 

  1. Look for the contactless symbol Tap to Pay Symbol  on the payment terminal. 

  2. Tap your card to the front of the point-of-sale terminal. 
  3. Wait for a beep or green light before taking away your card.
  4. Follow any instructions on the screen (you may be asked to enter your PIN). 

Please note: If the point-of-sale terminal does not have Tap to Pay your card can still be used by inserting it into the chip card reader or swiping.

Yes. Tap to Pay uses advanced security features, including encryption and unique transaction codes, to protect your information. Your actual card number is not shared with the merchant.
Do I need a new card to use Tap to Pay?
If your card has the contactless symbol Tap to Pay Symbol  , you’re all set. If you’re not sure whether your card is contactless-enabled, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
Where can I use Tap to Pay?
Tap to Pay is accepted at many retailers, restaurants, and local businesses. Just look for the contactless symbol Tap to Pay Symbol  at checkout.
Can I use Tap to Pay with my phone or smartwatch?
Yes. You can use Tap to Pay with supported mobile wallets such as Apple Pay®, Google Pay™, and Samsung Pay™, as long as your device is compatible.
Is there a transaction limit for Tap to Pay?
Some merchants may set limits for contactless transactions. For larger purchases, you may be asked to insert your card or enter your PIN.
What if my card is lost or stolen?
Just like with traditional card use, you should notify us immediately. You’re protected by the same fraud monitoring and card protections you already have.
Does Tap to Pay cost extra?
No. There’s no additional cost to use Tap to Pay with your card or mobile wallet.
