The End of Penny Production

The U.S. Mint has officially ended production of the penny due to rising manufacturing costs and declining use in everyday transactions. While no new pennies will be made, all existing pennies remain legal tender.

• Account balances are unchanged. Your accounts and transactions continue to be calculated to the cent. 
• Some retailers may round cash totals. Card and digital payments will still charge exact amounts.

• Can I still use pennies? Yes. They remain valid for purchases and banking.
• Should I bring my pennies to the bank? You may deposit them at any time. Our coin-counting services will remain available.
